Activity of the research group:

Main research areas:
  • Network technologies, protocols
  • Network design
  • Conformance and performance assessment and testing
  • 5G network efficient operation using AI methods
  • Performance and security issues of IPv6 migration technologies

Recent results:

  • Magyar Telekom has used our design software packages for decades for network development activities
  • Nokia has used our software packages to test Nokia equipment for several years
  • Methodology for practical training in Network Technologies
  • Developed and published an IETF-accepted methodology for testing the performance of IPv6 migration technologies in RFC 8219. Establishment of measurement tools that comply with the methodology
    • For DNS64: development of dns64perf++
    • DNS64 implementations (authoritative DNS server implementations required)
    • SIIT implementations, for SIIT (Stateless NAT64) and Stateful NAT64: development of siitperf
    • Perform measurements according to the methodology
